LEVEL OUTCOMES
Graduates of the Computer Engineering Program are expected to attain the following objectives 3-5 years after graduation:
- Participate in designing, developing, analyzing, testing, and/or utilizing various computer hardware and software applications;
- Function as a team member or a leader who communicates and works well, and demonstrates professionalism in national or global advancement with applications of arts, sciences, and engineering concepts in the multi-disciplinary environment either in industry, academe, or community; and
- Engage in life-long learning activities through participation in training, continuing education, or membership in professional organizations to keep abreast of the contemporary issues in Computer Engineering and other disciplines.
The graduates of the BS Computer Engineering program shall have acquired the knowledge and competencies necessary to perform the following:
- Apply knowledge of mathematics and sciences to solve engineering problems
- Design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data.
- Design a system, component, or process to meet desired needs within realistic constraints such as economic, environmental, social, political, ethical, health and safety, manufacturability, and sustainability
- Function on multidisciplinary teams
- Identify, formulate, and solve engineering problems
- Understand professional and ethical responsibility
- Communicate effectively
- Understand the impact of engineering solutions in a global, economic, environmental, and societal context
- Recognize the need for, and an ability to engage in life-long learning
- Know contemporary issues (economic issues, environmental issues, sustainability, manufacturability issue, ethical concern, health and safety, social impact, political impact)
- Use techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practice
- Know and understand engineering and management principles as a member and leader of a team, and to manage projects in multidisciplinary environments.
