LPU-Batangas Senior High School proudly sends its brightest Lyceans to compete in the prestigious World Scholar’s Cup (WSC) Global Rounds in Bangkok, Thailand, from September 5-11, 2024. Representing the university are Ann Margaret Lumanglas (G11 STEM-Engineering), Precious Nicole Calatong (G11 STEM-Medical), and Shan Allen Kristoffer Beron (G12 STEM-Engineering), three exceptional students who have demonstrated excellence in both academic and extracurricular activities.
The WSC is an international academic competition that brings together students from different countries around the world to compete in various subjects, including science, literature, social studies, and the arts. The event is known not only for its rigorous academic challenges but also for fostering global friendships and cultural exchange among participants. Students will engage in debates, collaborative writing, and various examinations, all designed to test their knowledge, critical thinking, and teamwork.
Guiding them on this journey are their dedicated coaches, Mr. Dan Emerson V. Desiderio, Area Chair for Languages and Social Sciences, and Dr. Jamie Lee F. Mendoza, High School Principal. Both mentors have played pivotal roles in preparing the students for this competition, providing them with the necessary skills and confidence to excel globally.
At every Global Round, the top-performing teams earn the prestigious opportunity to compete at the annual Tournament of Champions, held at Yale University in Connecticut, USA. This tournament brings together the best teams from around the world, making it a highly sought-after achievement, and what these High School Lyceans are striving for.
As they venture onto this remarkable journey, may they showcase their skills and bring home laurels. Their dedication and hard work have already made the university proud.
