The Lyceum of the Philippines University-Batangas (LPU-B) has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (PDRRMO) to enhance disaster preparedness and response efforts. The signing ceremony took place on February 27, 2025, at the PDRRMO office in Barangay Bolbok, Batangas City.


The agreement establishes a strategic partnership between LPU-B and PDRRMO, aiming to enhance disaster preparedness, mitigation, and response efforts. Key representatives from both institutions formalized the collaboration, including Dr. Cecilia C. Pring, Vice President for Academics and Research; Dr. Conrado I. Dotong, Assistant Vice President for Academics and Research, and Risk Management Committee Chair; and Dr. Bella P. Magnaye, Associate Dean of the College of Nursing. Dr. Amor Calayan, Department Head of PDRRMO, signed on behalf of the agency, along with the Governor of Batangas Province.
Through this partnership, both institutions will work together on training programs, resource sharing, disaster preparedness planning, emergency drills, and community awareness campaigns. The collaboration also includes joint research on disaster risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
LPU-B continues to strengthen its role in community resilience by engaging in partnerships that enhance disaster response capabilities. Through this initiative, the university and PDRRMO reaffirm their commitment to building a safer and more disaster-resilient Batangas.
