To cultivate innovation and entrepreneurship in ecotourism promoting sustainable development in the Philippines and Vietnam, LPU-Batangas launches ECOVIP ERASMUS+ Project, September 9, 2023

About the Project
ECOVIP is a project co-funded by the European Commission and coordinated by Nha Trang University that aims to develop entrepreneurial and innovation capacities for sustainable development in tourism in Vietnam and the Philippines. To run for three (3) years, this project will promote the development of innovative interdisciplinary entrepreneurial Ecotourism projects by Higher Education Institution students in cooperation with the private sector. ECOVIP also intends to develop a roadmap to improve the education programs in Tourism, with the guidance of the private sector.
Who are we?
The project consortium comprises 11 universities and 16 associate partners from Austria, Philippines, Portugal, Spain, and Vietnam. LPU-Batangas is involved in WORK PACKAGE 6 (WP6) for Curriculum Development, with the objective of enhancing the capacity of Philippine and Vietnamese HEIs to foster sustainable development in tourism. By creating educational content in entrepreneurship and initiating a curriculum reform process, LPU-B will also improve graduates’ employability. As part of this effort, LPU-B will develop a pilot online module on entrepreneurship for students.
The Outputs
The main output of this project is the establishment of six (6) Ecotourism hubs promoting ecotourism and interdisciplinary entrepreneurship in Vietnam and Philippines.
There will also be twelve (12) online introductory courses on entrepreneurship. Revision of twelve (12) tourism courses will also be done to incorporate entrepreneurial competences and concepts of sustainable tourism.
In addition, selected students, lecturers, staff, leaders, and managers will undergo training in Vietnam, Philippines, Spain, Austria, and Portugal on entrepreneurship and ecotourism.
National and International conferences, workshops, policy reporting, and competitions will also be held to foster collaboration and cooperation among the participants.
