LPU-Batangas at 47
On the occasion of its 47th founding anniversary the Lyceum of the Philippines University-Batangas held different events to celebrate this milestone. These events were the wreath laying ceremonies commemoration of the founder of LPU Philippine President Jose P. Laurel and founder of LPU- Batangas the late Sen. Sotero H. Laurel. This was followed by the loyalty parade participated by different work units of LPU-Batangas and the Awards Convocation and Family night which recognized the efforts of its employees in the tri-fold function and for their dedicated service to the university.
The loyalty parade’s highlight was the kick off ceremony for the 50th foundation anniversary countdown to the Golden Year of LPU-B with the ceremonial wine toasting and the field demonstration of the newest addition to the university, its High School Department.
Moreover, the keynote speaker for the Awards convocation was His Excellency Akinyemi Farounbi OON, Ambassador and Head of Mission to the Philippines of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Farounbi who was a broadcasting guru before his Foreign Service profession mentioned in his speech that he was surprised because people from LPU could pronounce names native to Nigeria correctly and that alone is already a sign of internationalization.
