Lyceum of the Philippines University-Batangas (LPU-B) marked the graduation of Batch Amalia of the Global Chief Cook and Galley Command Program on January 21, 2026, at the Main Campus, recognizing a milestone in the university’s continuing efforts to align hospitality education with international industry standards.

The graduating cohort comprised the first ten scholars produced through an academic-industry collaboration between LPU-B and Royal Wagenborg Southeast Asia. The scholars completed a 26-day intensive training program for the Bachelor of Science in International Hospitality Management learners specializing in Culinary Arts and Kitchen Operations (CAKO) and Cruise Line Operations in Culinary Arts (CLOCA). The program integrated structured instruction with applied training reflective of professional galley and shipboard operations.

Representing the maritime regulatory sector, Atty. Ivy Audrey Telegatos-Fampo, Head of the Administrative and Finance Section of Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) Region IV-A CALABARZON, served as the guest speaker and representative of Atty. Maximo I. Banares, Director II of the MARINA Regional Office IV, and conveyed the agency’s support for industry-aligned maritime education and training initiatives.

Industry partners from Royal Wagenborg also attended the ceremony, led by Ms. Emilia R. Del Barrio, President of Wagenborg Southeast Asia, together with Mr. Jessie D. Pana, Operations Manager of Wagenborg Solarlink Inc.; Ms. Giezel M. Labasan, Account Manager of Wagenborg Solarlink Inc.; Mr. Mark Oliver B. Cuenco, Deputy Country Manager of Wagenborg Southeast Asia; and Ms. Faith Joy Adelantar, Operations Manager of Wagenborg Manila Inc., underscoring the company’s continued collaboration with the university.

The Global Chief Cook and Galley Command Program emphasized advanced culinary competencies and galley command practices aligned with international maritime standards, preparing graduates for professional practice in global shipboard and hospitality environments and reinforcing LPU-B’s commitment to industry-responsive education.
