The Lyceum of the Philippines University-Batangas (LPU-B) and its university-wide LGBTQ+ organization, Kolorete, were recognized with the Bahaghari Award during the Rampa Na: Batangas City Pride Month Celebration 2025 on June 11. The awarding ceremony took place at the Batangas City Convention Center.

The accolade, conferred by LGBTQIA-Silbi Batangas City Inc., acknowledges the outstanding efforts and inclusive advocacy of LPU-B through Kolorete in championing diversity, equality, and safe spaces for the LGBTQ+ community within and beyond the academic environment.

Kolorete, known for leading university initiatives that raise awareness and empower LGBTQ+ voices, represented the institution during the ceremony. Receiving the awards was the President of Kolorete, John Benedict Borja, who expressed heartfelt gratitude and emphasized the importance of visibility, representation, and continued allyship in educational institutions.

The Rampa Na: Pride Month Celebration 2025 gathered various LGBTQ+ organizations, allies, and advocates from across Batangas City, featuring performances, forums, and recognition ceremonies honoring individuals and groups championing LGBTQ+ rights.
Through activities such as gender sensitivity seminars, inclusive campaigns, and campus-wide pride events, Kolorete has played a key role in shaping a culture of acceptance at LPU-B. This recognition affirms the university’s position as a strong ally of the LGBTQ+ community and a model of progressive and inclusive education in the region.
