In celebration of International Women’s Month, the Lyceum of the Philippines University-Batangas (LPU-B), represented by nine (9) female cadets from the Lyceum International Maritime Academy (LIMA), were honored guests at a gathering hosted at the residence of Norwegian Ambassador Christian Lyster on March 6, 2025. The event, organized by the Royal Norwegian Embassy, highlighted the vital role of women in the maritime industry and provided a platform for female cadets to share their experiences and aspirations.

The initiative, led by Ambassador Lyster, aimed to promote gender inclusivity in the maritime sector by encouraging young women to pursue careers at sea. The invited cadets, sponsored by prominent maritime companies such as Odfjell SE, Solvang, and OSM Thome, engaged in discussions about their training, challenges, and future opportunities in the field.

The celebration aligns with the global theme of International Women’s Month, emphasizing the importance of empowering women in traditionally male-dominated industries. By bringing together industry leaders and aspiring female maritime professionals, the event reinforced the commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion in the maritime sector.
LPU-B continues to advocate for gender equality in maritime education, equipping female cadets with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their careers. The university remains dedicated to producing competent and empowered maritime professionals who will shape the future of the industry.
