The Lyceum of the Philippines University-Batangas (LPU-B) painted June with pride and purpose through Kolorete Fest 2025, a month-long celebration that honored diversity, equality, and the vibrant voices of the LGBTQ+ community. This year’s fest was made even more impactful through strong partnerships with SM City Batangas, Wagayway Equality, its Equality Desk, the Batangas Fashion Designers’ Guild (BFDG), and various student organizations within and beyond the university, united in championing inclusivity across educational and public spaces.

True to its name—Kolorete, a symbol of color, identity, and self-expression—the celebration brought together students, educators, artists, and advocates in a shared commitment to creating safe and accepting spaces for all. On campus, Kolorete served as a platform for meaningful dialogue, cultural expression, and allyship, reinforcing LPU-B’s mission to be a home for inclusive learning and advocacy.

As a long-time partner of Kolorete, Wagayway Equality continues to be a cornerstone of LPU-B’s Pride Month efforts. On June 26, its Equality Desk led the educational component of the celebration with two impactful events. The first was the Equality Desk Summit, which highlighted the importance of inclusive policies and campus support systems. This was followed by LAYA: Empowering Voices and Building Allyship Through Inclusive Dialogue, a collaborative initiative with the Psychology Association of LPU-Batangas (PALs) and the Psychological Association of the Philippines (PAP) LGBT Psychology Special Interest Group. Both events helped deepen understanding of LGBTQ+ rights and strengthened the culture of allyship within the Lycean community.

Beyond campus, the partnership with SM City Batangas expanded the reach of the celebration into the wider community. The mall served as a public space for pride and visibility, highlighting the power of corporate and civic allyship. A standout event was the Fashion Design Rampa Exhibit, held from June 25 to 28 in collaboration with the Batangas Fashion Designers’ Guild. The exhibit celebrated local creativity and identity through inclusive fashion and artistic expression.

Culminating the month’s activities, Lyceans proudly participated in Love Laban 3 on June 28 at UP Diliman, one of the country’s largest Pride marches. Marching alongside thousands of advocates, they carried the spirit and values of Kolorete, standing in solidarity for equal rights, representation, and freedom from discrimination.

Through Kolorete Fest 2025, LPU-B reaffirmed its commitment to building a future where every identity is seen, heard, and celebrated, a movement powered by community, creativity, and courageous love.
