Master of Arts in
Educational Leadership and Management

The Master of Arts in Educational Leadership and Management is a program with specializations intended to provide graduate students in the region and the whole country in general with professional competencies needed in education and the application of theories and principles in educational leadership. The focus of instruction and training is to enable students who think of innovations and critically decide on issues that may be able to cope positively and effectively with the trends, management challenges in organization development, change and transformation in education and who become active participants in community development.

THREE (3) TO FIVE (5) YEARS AFTER GRADUATION, ALUMNI OF MASTER OF ARTS IN EDUCATIONAL LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT SHALL:

  • Become managers/ supervisors in basic higher education institutions.
  • Be actively engaged in research that contribute to the development of teaching profession and community development.
  • Have engaged in lifelong learning.

BY THE TIME OF GRADUATION, MASTER OF ARTS IN EDUCATIONAL LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT STUDENTS SHALL HAVE THE ABILITY TO:

  • Discuss a range of educational and learning theories.
  • Apply a range of pedagogical models in a classroom and school context.
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of knowledge and a critical awareness of current and emergent issues within the area of education, classroom practice and wider professional development at local, national, and international level.
  • Make sound/reasoned judgment in the areas of instruction, curriculum management, and professional development
  • Practice professional, ethical, and legal responsibilities as a professional leader.
  • Demonstrate managerial skills related to education with practical application to lifelong learning.
  • Perform best practices in various available alternative delivery of classroom instruction using modern technology.
