LPU–Batangas continues to strengthen its international presence as it joins the Hanseatic League of Universities (HLU) and expands its network of academic partnerships with more than 60 universities across Asia.
The milestone underscores the University’s continuing commitment to internationalization and to creating opportunities that connect the Lycean community with the broader global academic landscape. The Hanseatic League of Universities (HLU) is a modern network of universities founded on the shared values of connectivity, entrepreneurship, and societal impact. Drawing inspiration from the legacy of the historic Hanseatic League, the network promotes collaboration and innovation under the theme “Breaking Barriers, Empowering Change.”
For LPU–Batangas, its engagement with HLU further strengthens its efforts to develop globally responsive and future-ready education. The growing network also provides a platform for the University to establish meaningful connections with higher education institutions across Asia and explore opportunities for academic and institutional collaboration. As part of this internationalization initiative, LPU–Batangas also forged a partnership with National Chi Nan University (NCNU) in Taiwan, further expanding its academic linkages in the region. The collaboration is under the leadership of Dr. Dong-Sing Wuu, President of National Chi Nan University and President-Elect of the Hanseatic League of Universities. Representing LPU–Batangas in strengthening these international linkages is Dr. Conrado I. Dotong, Assistant Vice President for Student Services, under the leadership of Dr. Peter P. Laurel, President of LPU–Batangas.
Their efforts contribute to the University’s continuing pursuit of partnerships with distinguished higher education institutions in Asia and beyond. Beyond institutional affiliation, these international linkages create opportunities for student mobility, faculty collaboration, research engagement, cultural exchange, innovation, and global learning experiences. Such initiatives enable students and faculty members to engage with diverse academic communities while gaining perspectives and experiences relevant to an increasingly interconnected world.
The University’s internationalization efforts also contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals. By building meaningful international collaborations, LPU–Batangas continues to pursue inclusive, globally connected, and future-ready higher education.
Through these partnerships, LPU–Batangas continues to advance its role as an industry-driven university in the Asia-Pacific region, committed to developing globally competitive Lyceans equipped to contribute meaningfully to their professions and communities. As its international network continues to grow, LPU–Batangas remains committed to breaking barriers, building meaningful partnerships, and creating opportunities that bring global learning closer to the Lycean community.
