Lyceum of the Philippines University-Batangas continues to strengthen its institutional dedication to environmental stewardship and climate action as it prepares to join the Net Zero Carbon Alliance (NZCA).

On October 1, 2026, representatives from the NZCA, spearheaded by Lead Convenor Ms. Frances Ariola of First Gen, visited the LPU-Batangas Riverside Campus to conduct a comprehensive orientation. The session introduced university leaders and stakeholders to the alliance’s framework, decarbonization pathways, and actionable strategies for long-term sustainability.
This visit serves as a pivotal preliminary step as LPU-Batangas formalizes its intent to become an official member of the NZCA. By partnering with the alliance, the university reinforces its institutional commitment to reducing its carbon footprint, implementing eco-friendly campus practices, and driving progress toward its ultimate goal of achieving Net Zero emissions.

This milestone actively supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), integrating sustainability across key institutional pillars. By advancing climate action and decarbonization, LPU-Batangas champions SDG 13 (Climate Action) and SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy) through clean energy alignment and reduced carbon reliance. Furthermore, embedding environmental stewardship into campus operations drives SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) through sustainable infrastructure improvements, while advancing SDG 4 (Quality Education) by empowering students and community members with real-world knowledge and leadership in environmental stewardship.

As an institution dedicated to nation-building, LPU-Batangas looks forward to collaborating with industry leaders to accelerate the country’s transition toward a low-carbon future. The university extends its gratitude to the entire LPU-Batangas community for their continuous engagement and support of institutional green initiatives.
