LPU-Batangas receives recognition in the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) 2026 during the HLU Annual Conference and WURI Global Rankings Ceremony 2026, held on May 6–7, 2026, at National Chi Nan University (NCNU) in Taiwan.
The recognition highlights the University’s continuing efforts to promote innovation and strengthen its contributions to industry and society through innovative approaches to education, research, and institutional engagement. The World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) evaluates higher education institutions based on their innovative contributions and real-world impact. The ranking recognizes institutions that develop and implement innovative approaches that respond to societal needs and create meaningful contributions beyond conventional academic measures. WURI evaluates participating institutions across 24 categories, covering various innovation targets and methods. Applications are assessed based on key criteria including innovativeness, implementability, and impact, providing a framework for recognizing initiatives that demonstrate practical and meaningful contributions to society.
Representing LPU–Batangas at the WURI Global Rankings Ceremony was Dr. Conrado I. Dotong, Assistant Vice President for Student Services, who joined representatives from higher education institutions and international academic leaders in recognizing innovation-driven initiatives in higher education. Among the distinguished figures present was Dr. Dong-sung “Max” Cho, Chair of the WURI Foundation and Honorary President of the Hanseatic League of Universities. For LPU–Batangas, the recognition affirms its continuing commitment to developing innovative and impact-driven approaches to higher education. It also reflects the University’s efforts to create initiatives that respond to emerging needs and contribute to the advancement of industry and society.
The achievement further supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals. As LPU–Batangas continues to strengthen its innovation initiatives and international linkages, the University remains committed to providing globally responsive and industry-driven education while creating meaningful impact within and beyond the academic community.
