When I finished High School, I realized that I was going to face another chapter of my life. Leaving the blue gates of my school, having another set of uniforms and dealing with new people. I’ll carry my dreams in another four years of hard work, perseverance and survival in college.
I took up AB Mass Communication, a program which not only contributes to my mental and physical growth but also shapes my whole personality as a person. Lyceum of the Philippines University-Batangas provides big opportunities to all the students. This is where I gained the values of being a true professional individual, a good student and a competitive leader. LPU-B also made me realize that being academically good should be combined with having the values of humility, integrity and diligence.
I was blessed with a prestigious and one of a kind opportunity when I won the title of Ms. LPU-B 2014. This is a life changing yet a humbling experience for me. This title is not only about the prestige and honor but this is where I learned the meaning of what a true Lycean is. A Lycean is someone who is competitive in the real sense of the word. A Lycean does not compete with other people but challenges himself to improve and be better. Being competitive will serve as a capital for us to grow and achieve our dreams but still remind us to keep our feet on the ground. When we improve ourselves as individuals, we inspire other people to do the same. We become catalysts to improve other people thus improving society. It is only then that we will truly take the lead.
This is the life I would like to live and the mark I would like to be remembered of, a person for others and an important part of the community.
