In a gathering that pulsed with purpose and conviction, young leaders and student affairs professionals from across the nation convened in Baguio City for the 1st Outstanding Student Leaders and 5th Student Affairs and Services National Convention 2025, organized by TRAC Philippines – Transforming Advocates and Champions. With the theme “Empowering Sustainable Change: The Role of Student Affairs and Services in Addressing Social Issues,” the convention became a space where leadership met advocacy, and vision took tangible form.

Representing LPU-Batangas, Althea Danielle Guerra, a proud Bachelor of Multimedia Arts (BMMA) alumna and Top 1 SHL Outstanding Student 2025, achieved national recognition as she placed 8th among the Outstanding Student Leaders of the Philippines (OSLP) 2025 and was recognized with the Best Advocacy Video Award. Alongside her, Vhia Rashelle Galzote earned a spot among the Top 20 Finalists, both embodying the Lycean brand of excellence—committed, compassionate, and forward-looking.

Accompanying them were select officers of the Lyceum Supreme Student Council (LSSC), together with their adviser and Director of the Student Affairs Office (OOSA), Atty. Reynold Beredo. Immersed in discussions and training sessions, the group engaged with leaders and experts in the field of student development, exploring ways to strengthen student engagement and community impact in higher education.

The convention also featured transformative insights from some of the country’s most respected advocates. Hon. Teddy Baguilat, President of Angat Kalikasan Pilipinas and a celebrated Ifugao leader, shared his journey of empowering marginalized communities and advancing environmental stewardship through public service. Meanwhile, Atty. Renecio “Luke” Espiritu Jr., a dynamic labor organizer and social justice champion, urged student leaders to view advocacy not as an afterthought, but as a lifelong calling to serve with courage and conscience.

As conversations on sustainability, governance, and social action deepened, the message was clear—education finds its true meaning when it shapes leaders who act with empathy and purpose.

LPU-Batangas continues to nurture such leaders—individuals who learn to excel, inspire progress, and empower others. Through experiences like these, the university bridges learning and leadership, ensuring that every Lycean leaves not only with knowledge but with the heart to lead change.
