In a grand celebration of talent, intellect, and vision, the Lyceum of the Philippines University-Batangas (LPU-B) proudly welcomed over 41 high schools from Batangas, Laguna, and Quezon Province to the 2025 LPU-Batangas Regional Inter-High School Academic, Skills, and Cultural Competitions on March 22, 2025, at the Main Campus.

Each year, LPU-B takes great pride in providing a platform where young minds can showcase their skills, compete at the highest level, and gain recognition for their hard work and passion. This year’s event was an attestation to the dedication and excellence of students from various high schools in some parts of the region, who competed in a series of competitions that highlighted their intellectual abilities, artistic talents, and leadership potential.
Academic Prowess in Focus

The Humanities and Society Quiz Bee was a battle of intellect, as students showcased their expertise in history, business, culture, and social issues. The Philippine Science High School-CALABARZON Region Campus claimed the first honor, demonstrating their analytical skills and deep knowledge. Cuenca Institute and Fame Academy of Science and Technology (FAST) put up an impressive fight, securing second and third place, respectively.

The STEM Quiz Bee highlighted the region’s brightest scientific minds, with participants answering complex questions in science and mathematics. The Philippine Science High School-CALABARZON Region Campus once again took home the gold, while FAST and Bauan Technical Integrated High School proved their excellence by finishing in second and third place.

Meanwhile, public speaking took center stage in the Extemporaneous Speaking Contest, where participants delivered insightful and powerful speeches on pressing social issues. The Philippine Science High School-CALABARZON Region Campus emerged victorious, followed closely by Lemery Senior High School and Alangilan Senior High School, both of which showcased eloquence and persuasive argumentation.
Applauding Artistry and Creativity

The SDG Digital Poster Making Contest brought together the region’s most talented young digital artists, who created stunning visual representations featuring the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. The Lyceum of the Philippines University-Laguna (LPU-L) impressed the judges with an impactful piece that won them first place. Lemery Senior High School followed in second, while Pinamukan Integrated School claimed third.

The future leaders of the tourism industry showcased their storytelling and stage presence in the Tour Guiding Competition, where Lemery Senior High School took the top spot, with Batangas City Integrated High School and Philippine Science High School-CALABARZON Region Campus also proving their excellence.

Moreover, the “Kapeng Barako” Dessert Challenge put young culinary talents to the test, as they incorporated Batangas’ signature coffee into innovative desserts. St. Mary’s Educational Institute earned first place. Bauan Technical Integrated High School and Alangilan Senior High School placed second and third, showcasing remarkable culinary artistry.

Likewise, the Fruit and Vegetable Carving Contest transformed simple produce into intricate works of art. Alangilan Senior High School earned the top rank for their exquisite designs, followed closely by Bauan Technical Integrated High School and Southbay Montessori School and Colleges, Inc., both of which displayed impressive craftsmanship.
A Showcase of Passion and Performance

The atmosphere electrified during the Hip-Hop Dance Competition, where teams delivered high-energy performances. Lemery Senior High School claimed the championship title, while Bauan Technical Integrated High School and Alangilan Senior High School proved that passion and hard work lead to excellence.

At the same time, the Vocal Solo Contest showcased outstanding young voices, with Sean Matthew Diece of Calubcob 1.0 National High School taking the first place. Inosloban-Marawoy Integrated National High School, Alangilan Senior High School, The Nazareth School of Lipa City, Inc., and Bulacnin Integrated National High School also delivered awe-inspiring performances that won the admiration of the crowd.
Mr. and Miss Teen LPU 2025

Soaring with elegance, wit, and advocacy, the Mr. and Miss Teen LPU 2025 defied gravity with the “Pirate Circus” theme. Franz Eiarl Ambas of Alangilan Senior High School and Ruth Gwyneth Mendoza of Lemery Senior High School sailed through the competition and commanded the grand stage to claim their crowns. Amid the invigorating spectacle of the pirate circus-themed event, they proved themselves to be true ringmasters of confidence and charisma.

As LPU-B continues its mission to honor and empower young achievers, it looks forward to welcoming even more schools in the years to come. This year’s competitions proved that excellence is alive and thriving in some areas of CALABARZON, and the institution remains committed to recognizing, celebrating, and nurturing the limitless potential of students across the region.
