Promoting educational ties, Dr. Cecilia C. Pring, Vice President for Academics and Research and Dr. Sergel I. Dacut, Linkages and International Affairs Supervisor, represented LPU-Batangas at the 2023 China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week (CAECW). The said event is being held in Guiyang City, Guizhou Province, China, Aug 28-31, 2023.
Together with them are the head of Philippine delegation Chairperson Dr. J. Prospero De Vera, III, and Atty. Lily Freida M. Milla, OIC Deputy Executive Director & Director III of International Affairs Service of the Commission on Higher Education. Consul General Flerida Ann Camille Mayo of the Philippine Consulate in Chongquing, China also joined the Philippine delegation during the opening ceremony.
Thirteen other universities from the Philippines is also attending, including Bohol Island State University, Isabela State University, Mariano Marcos State University, University of Antique, University of the Cordilleras, University of the Philippines – Diliman, UP Open University, Jose Rizal University, Lyceum of the Philippines University – Batangas, Panpacific University, University of Perpetual Help System, World Citi Colleges, and Mabalacat City College.
During the opening ceremony, two alliances were inaugurated: the China-ASEAN Digital Education Alliance and the Alliance for Economics and Management Education and the Network for Higher Education on Finance and Economics.
The China-ASEAN Cooperation Week 2023, hosted by Ministry on Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, and the People’s government of Guizhou Province, has become an important platform for China-ASEAN education cooperation and people to people and cultural exchanges.
