Vice President Maria Leonor “Leni” Gerona Robredo graced the LPU Batangas Awards Convocation 2021 as its convocation speaker, held today October 29, 2021, and streamed online via Facebook Live. In her speech, she congratulated this year’s awardees for their hard work, commitment and dedication. She said that perhaps this was not how the awardees imagined celebrating their triumphs. Everyone scrambled in the face of all the challenges leaving us with little time to prepare for the transition. But we had to adapt and adapt we did. She also emphasized that there can be no denying that school administrators, faculty members, and staff, and our communities rose to the occasion of adapting to the challenges brought about by the pandemic. The pandemic has shown us the gaps in education which had been discussed ad nauseam. Our focus now is to address the gaps and to do this we need a systemic approach. We must ensure that the organic whole moves harmoniously. Robredo stressed that the education of our children rests not only on the shoulders of our academic institutions it is a responsibility shared by the entire community and the entire Philippine nation.
The Awards Convocation was held virtually for the 2nd time due to the COVID-19 restrictions but this did not hinder LPU in recognizing its people for their loyalty, dedication, commitment, and exemplary performance in support of the tri-fold function of the university. This event is part of the celebration of the 55th Foundation Anniversary of LPU Batangas.
