Philippine Coast Guard signs MOA with LPU for NSTP Implementation
A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing ceremony was held August 16 at the Lyceum International Maritime Academy between the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and LPU for the implementation of the National Service Training Program (NSTP) of maritime students to be facilitated by the PCG.
The Philippine Coast Guard thru Capt. Artemio M. Abu, Commander of Coast Guard District Southern Tagalog and other PCG delegates namely, COMMO Leo Campos, and LCDR Geoffrey Espaldon and the LPU Team composed of Senior Vice President-Mr. Frederick Badillo, Managing Consultant-Dr. Esmenia Javier, VP for Academics and Research- Dr. Cecilia Pring and Dean of Maritime Education-Capt. Alexander Gonzales signed the MOA.
Under Section 11 of R.A. 9993, states that the PCG is mandated to enhance maritime community relations under the National Service Training Program and Youth Development. Its Implementing Rules and Regulations specifically mentions that the PCG is required to develop NSTP Curriculum in relation to PCG’s Function incorporating therein the Risk Reduction and Management Awareness, Environmental Awareness, Leadership Training and Community Service. #TakeTheLead #PCG #ChooseLPUBatangas #LPULIMA
