LPU receives Center of Excellence and Center of Development Awards from CHED

LPU Batangas receives Center of Excellence and Center of Development Awards from the Commission on Higher Education. The Center of Excellence (COE) refers to a department within a higher education institution, which continuously demonstrates excellent performance in the areas of instruction, research and publication, extension and linkages and institutional qualifications while the Center of Development (COD) refers to a department within a higher education institution, which demonstrates the potential to become a Center of Excellence (COE) in the future. LPU Batangas is now the Center of Excellence of Hotel and Restaurant Management, Tourism and Medical Technology (Medical Laboratory Science) programs while its Information Technology and Business Administration programs are awarded Center of Development. Truly, these awards are manifestations of LPU Batangas’ commitment to quality education.

The awarding ceremony was held at the CHED auditorium, May 17, 2016. The awards were presented by the Chairperson of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Dr. Patricia Licuanan and were received by the deans of the different programs; Dr. Alex Ylagan for HRM and Tourism, Dr. Anacleta Valdez for Medical Technology, Dr. Maribeth Buenviaje for Business Administration and Mrs. Rose Alday for Information Technology. The delegation was headed by the Assistant Vice President for Academics and Research, Dr. Cecilia Pring.
