First Place Inc. Conducts US Work and Travel Program Orientation

First Place Inc. LPU Batangas’ partner for the US Work and travel program conducted an orientation through the initiative of the Internship Office, headed by its Director Ms. Gileth Maraquilla. The orientation was tailor-made for the students of CITHM, CBAM, CCOS, COE and CEAS and was held last October 14, 2017 at the Freedom Hall. First Place Inc. is a Philippine-based career and education counseling organization, which provide students and young professionals with safe yet challenging opportunities to learn the lessons of independence, discipline, and responsible management of their earnings from stable and fair work-study environments.

The US Work & Travel program is a cultural exchange program of the US State Department. It allows current full-time university students of any course, 18 – 25 years old and preferably in their second or third year of university, to enter the US on a J1 visa. Participants get to meet other foreign nationalities and learn about American culture while working in a private company during their summer break.
