The commemoration commenced with a solemn wreath-laying ceremony, paying homage to the university’s founders whose vision paved the way for the institution’s growth and success. This was followed by a heartfelt mass, where the LPU-Batangas community gathered to express gratitude for the strong foundation and seek blessings for the future
Investing in Wellness
A significant milestone of the celebration was the blessing of the Wellness Gym, underlining the university’s commitment to the holistic well-being of its faculty and staff. Recognizing the importance of physical health, this facility is poised to be a hub for fostering a healthy and active community.
Community Extension and Environmental Stewardship
The anniversary celebrations extended beyond the campus borders with a robust community extension program. A bloodletting drive, a visit to the LPU Arboretum, and the Malitam Conservation Eco-Park Rehabilitation and Clean-up Drive were organized. These initiatives aimed not only to raise environmental awareness but also to encourage active community participation in preserving our ecosystem.
The bloodletting drive, facilitated by the LPU-Batangas Red Cross Youth Council in collaboration with the Community Extension Office, emphasized the importance of blood donation for those in need. Concurrently, the visit to the arboretum provided an opportunity for students and faculty members to plant endemic trees, contributing to the conservation of our environment.
Fostering Creativity and Global Citizenship
Emphasizing the importance of creativity and global awareness, the Visual Art Competition and SDG Awareness Exhibit Competition 2023 were held. These competitions not only showcased the artistic talents of Lyceans but also promoted the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, aligning with the university’s commitment to global citizenship.
The Visual Art Competition featured representations from various colleges, capturing the vibrant spirit of LPU-Batangas, with the artworks now adorning the SHL Building lobby. Meanwhile, the SDG Awareness Exhibit Competition challenged participants to create informative exhibits showcasing the SDGs and their relevance to the local context.
Talent Extravaganza and Musical Delight
Adding a touch of glamour and excitement, the Mr. and Ms. Freshman 2023 and the Tuklas Tinig Season 23 competitions showcased the diverse talents of Lyceans in singing, performing, and displaying wit, poise, and confidence on stage. The Bandista Competition, featuring bands from within the university, concluded the week with a harmonious celebration of music and arts.
