Save the date for the public launch of the ECOViP project on July 11, 2023, at Nha Trang University in Vietnam, starting at 8:30 am. This initiative aims to cultivate innovation and entrepreneurship in ecotourism, promoting sustainable development in Vietnam and the Philippines.
ECOVIP, a project co-funded by the European Commission and coordinated by Nha Trang University, aims to develop entrepreneurial and innovation capacities for sustainable development in tourism in Vietnam and the Philippines. This project will promote the development of innovative interdisciplinary entrepreneurial Ecotourism projects by Higher Education Institution students, in cooperation with the private sector. ECOVIP also intends to develop a roadmap for the improvement of the education programs in Tourism, with the guidance of the private sector.
The project consortium comprises of 11 universities from Austria, Philippines, Portugal, Spain, and Vietnam, in addition to a tourism agency in Vietnam and an ecotourism association in the Philippines. LPU-Batangas is specifically involved in WORK PACKAGE 6 (WP6) for Curriculum Development, with the main objective of enhancing the capacity of Philippine and Vietnamese HEIs to foster sustainable development in tourism. By creating educational content in entrepreneurship and initiating a curriculum reform process, LPU-B will also improve graduates’ employability. As part of this effort, LPU-B will develop a pilot online module on entrepreneurship for students.
The public launch, with participation from the ministries responsible for Higher Education in Vietnam and the Philippines, will highlight objectives and timeline of the 3-year project and its potential impact.
