I have been with Microsoft for almost 2 years and currently handling two roles. I am the Modern Workplace Adoption Lead helping organizations in the country to achieve goals and objectives through people and technology. As a stretch assignment, I am also the Philanthropy Lead who aims to close the skills gap and enhance employability for underserved communities in the Philippines.
To handle the two roles was indeed a big challenge but remembering my experience back in college at LPU-Batangas, I know I was ready to take the big leap and accepted the said roles in Microsoft.
It was never easy to become an IT professional, the learning and exploration in the IT-industry never stop. Good thing, the College of Computer Studies (CCS) of LPU molded me to become an innovative and creative IT professional. CCS opened opportunities for us to attend several seminars and workshops to discover the current trends in technology. They encouraged us to join university-wide and national IT competitions, to be competitive while improving our teamwork and collaboration skills. CCS also developed us to become young leaders by taking an active role in student organizations and activities to inspire and help more students. Lastly, CCS celebrates students’ successes by giving recognition and awards.
I also would like to share that I had the opportunity to become one of the student assistants of LPU-Batangas. The opportunity not only supported me financially but also allowed me to learn from the amazing and intellectual professionals of LPU-Batangas.
Indeed, it was an amazing LPU experience and with all these, I told myself #ButiNaLangNagLyceumAko
