Rodelando M. Leuterio Jr., RN, MAN, HAAD-RN
Chief Nurse, Metro Balayan Medical Center
BS Nursing, 2008
My utmost reason why I shifted to Nursing in 2004 (I was originally an Engineering student) was because it was in demand abroad and for financial stability. However, I thought I could only be a passionate “healer “but to my surprise, I also found my purpose in Nursing, which was to “LEAD”.
I gained my Nursing Foundation at Lyceum of the Philippines Batangas, from 2004-2008. What I love most about this institution is its heart for the needy. LPU never forgets to share its blessings to the less fortunate in the community through its Community Extension Program which I have actively participated in and was recognized for it during our commencement exercises.
I never knew that I would love Nursing so much that I did not notice when it started. For all I knew, is just to give what is expected from me and become committed to serving God and Country.
Today, one must excel to grasp the bar of the competition because of the overwhelming number of nursing graduates every year. Nurse to patient ratio as well as the compensation and regularization was clouding the Nursing Profession today, but it should not stop us to become masters of our profession to achieve greater heights of SUCCESS!
Truly, my stay in LPU has given me so much to treasure, from the well-rounded faculty who will bring out the best in you, the staff, especially to the very strict lady guard during our time who taught us that rules are rules, and of course to my batchmates BSN 4-14 Group C.
I would like to thank my Alma Mater, Lyceum of the Philippines University Batangas, from the faculty, staff, and to the very strict lady guard na” sikat na sikat” during our time, my utmost gratitude for LEADING my future to a whirlwind of success. From Staff to Head Nurse, a Nurse Supervisor, a Chief Nurse of the Madonna General Hospital, and then to becoming the First Chief Nurse of the Metro Balayan Medical Center.
During these trying times brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic which brought fear, disaster, and illness, I stand still as a Lycean in the front lines molded with selfless service for God and Country! (Pro Deo Et Patria!) I never knew that I could go this far, with faith in the Almighty God, choosing the best university and a steady support system unleashed my full potential. Truly LPU prepared me for this. Long Live LPU! #ButiNaLangNagLyceumAko
