“Don’t worry about failures, worry about the chances you miss when you don’t even try.” It was the year 2012 when I entered Lyceum of the Philippines University – Batangas with that quote as my motto. LPU has given me lots of opportunities that I never knew I would experience as a student. Though there was a part of me who’s still afraid to fail, I took advantage of it and accepted every opportunity. Presenting our thesis internationally, in front of professionals was one of the opportunities that I will always be grateful for to LPU and the College of Computer Studies. I graduated not just with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Computer Science but also with the necessary skills in communication, creative and critical thinking, and the ability to LEAD. LPU brought out the best in me. The thought of entering the real world can be very daunting but LPU prepared me well. Weeks after I graduated, I landed a job as a Junior Software Engineer at Ecorenew Philippines Inc. I worked there for 4 years and received a promotion twice. From Junior Software Engineer to Software Engineer. And a year after, I became the Lead Software Engineer. But due to the pandemic last year, I lost my job. With that, I decided to take a hiatus from work for months and started a small business instead. Currently, I’m working as a Software Engineer Consultant at I2S Business Solutions Inc. and still managing my small business. Words are not enough to show how thankful I am to LPU and to my mentors in the College of Computer Studies who became my second family. I will never be where I am today if not for LPU. My alma mater turned my dreams into a reality through technology. And with that, I am proud to say “But Na lang Nag Lyceum Ako”.
