BS Mechanical Engineering, 2010
It does not hold true that you must be good in mathematics to become an engineer, the college of engineering is a training ground for hard work and perseverance, it is more of a home where you build your character. I am proud to say that I am a Lycean. I would like to express my gratitude to faculty of engineering, Dr. Conrado A. Dotong, Engr. Nestor Camello, Engr. Teresita Bacay, and Engr. Jake Laguador, who without fail express their concern about me as an individual and as a part of engineering family, to their endless exhortation and who by their character serves me the best teacher.
The best thing that I learned from my alma mater is that the person you are trying to reach out needs to feel first that you really care before he really moves.
And this same principle is what I apply when It comes to my own company. I have founded L. Taneo Mechanical Services, a design, procure and construct company which specializes in HVAC and provides other MEPFs services. I make sure that my client feels that I really care about his business, in this manner he will put his trust on me, allowing me to take care of his problems.
And in the same manner how I was handled by my professors in college is the same way I handle my subordinates, I lead them in the way where I know they would learn something valuable.
My motto in life is “Whatever happens, happen”. It is the willingness to go through and try new things, new experiences that allows you to grow and learn new things. It does not matter if you fail, it is by failing that you’ll be able to adjust and adapt for you to succeed. God Bless and More power.
