Lyceum of the Philippines University- Batangas is an Autonomous University with the highest and most prestigious recognition given by CHED through its delivery of standard and quality education which is a result of its strong accreditation drive alongside its international quality assurance system and taking the lead in global education by using its recognitions for international engagements. It is not a crowded place but had and still accommodates a lot of students, professors, guests, etc. that everyone seems to know each other and interact well. The university makes sure everyone gets the best education by employing very competent professors and support staff who are friendly and hospitable and foster good relationships with the students.
I first walked into Lyceum of the Philippines University-Batangas with no idea what challenges it would throw at me as a transferee and foreign student. I was so overwhelmed with homesickness and also nervous about how things will be like in a new school and environment that, the first weeks were challenging as I dragged myself around to get myself familiarized with the school and the outstanding LPUB Community and Family. As time passed, LPUB gradually became my second home in which, I loved everything that it offered, enriched, molded, and shaped me academically, mentally, and socially. University life is strenuous and not as fun as it looks from afar but LPU made it easy and fun for me.
During the duration of my studies, I joined different school organizations and took part in different school activities on and off the school campus in which had helped me a lot as a student and now has a human resource for my country. I was given the opportunity to represent LPUB on an international level by presenting a research paper at Taylor’s University, Malaysia, and locally as a pageant contestant for Miss BSIE during the Batangas Society of Industrial Engineering Students Provincial Congress and also, as a volleyball player for Team LPUB during the Sigma Cup for Industrial Engineering Students Society in Batangas Province. I also, represented my college, the College of Engineering in various competitions during school-organized activities and diverse academic and sporting events in which I took part.
I participate in essay competitions during Engineering Days twice but in different years and won. I even took part in Mangrove Planting and Math Tutorial for the Community Extension Program that I enjoyed so much. My leadership skills stood out when I got elected as a class president during my senior year. As a foreign student, LPU gave me opportunities with no discrimination and I was equally treated like the locals, with that I will be forever grateful to LPU.
To conclude, I am really proud to be an alumna of LPUB since it molded me into an individual who possesses the core 4Cs; competent, committed, collaborative, and caring. As a foreign student, I would strongly recommend other foreign students to choose LPUB as it is a conducive and hospitable school. I am thankful to LPU for everything and did not regret choosing it for my educational career as a foreign student. All the memories and experiences gained in this university will forever be treasured.
