It is my great pleasure to share my humble story of achievement as an alumnus from Lyceum of the Philippines University – Batangas. By God’s grace and with LPU-Batangas’ quality education, I was able to attain my self-defined success. I am grateful that during my time as a student cadet in Lyceum International Maritime Academy, I have been exposed not only to maritime academics but also to worthwhile extra-curricular activities such as being a cadet-officer in the Office of Crew Cadets Corps and as an editor for Phoenix, the Official Student Publication. LPU-Batangas offers a well-rounded education that focuses on academics as well as with other fields wherein you can participate and possibly excel. I have acquired invaluable life lessons and experiences that have developed my hard work, dedication, good attitude, leadership, and loyalty. These learnings have been very useful since I have worked in the different facets of the maritime industry. LPU-Batangas have equipped me with the necessary tools to face various challenges that I have encountered in the active sea-going service, in the technical department of the ship management company as well as in my short stint in the academe. I will always be thankful for my alma mater, Lyceum of the Philippines University-Batangas, a respected partner in maritime education and training. LPU-B has opened doors for me in the maritime profession since my company, Maine Marine Phils. Inc. visited during my 3rd-year college for cadetship program. I was blessed to be chosen and stayed with the company from engine cadet up to the peak of my shipboard career, presently as Chief Marine Engineer. I sincerely appreciate my instructors, deans, guidance counselors, and school administration staff who are always there to assist and advise the young generation of future seafarers. Finally, always be encouraged to continuously take necessary examinations and training for your career progress. Always have patience in your hardships and trials. As we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that sufferings produce endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope (Romans 5:3-4, ESV). This hope of a better future will bring you to your own self-defined success at your own pace on your own terms. God bless you as you navigate and chart your course in your journey towards success. Without a doubt, LPU-Batangas is definitely my university of choice. #ButiNaLangNagLyceumAko
