“When you put your heart and full commitment towards reaching your goal, believing in yourself and with the guidance of God, nothing is impossible.” Those were the words that I inculcated into my mind during the early stages of my maritime career. From academics to examination in sponsoring shipping companies, shipboard training, licensure examination, teaching, and up to the present challenges that I am encountering, it makes me say to myself that I can do anything until I reach the peak of my career.
The journey was never easy but thanks to my Alma Mater for equipping me with sufficient knowledge and skills, for the guidance, and for pushing me to go beyond my limits. LPU Batangas known for its globally competitive maritime programs taught me a lot of things and values. It has highly qualified instructors and officials, an extensive curriculum, and state-of-the-art facilities. Discipline contributed to the holistic development of LPU’s graduates, making us exceptional among others. Aside from the technical skills and knowledge that is surely acquired by its graduates, LPU also has character-shaping programs such as extracurricular activities and leadership training which develops the students to become future champions and leaders in their chosen field.
When I was in college, I used to be a Cadet Officer. I’ve undergone a series of intensive training and adhered to stricter rules which developed the values needed for me to survive in our extraordinary life at sea. I also became the External Vice President of the Lyceum Supreme Student Council where I gained leadership skills that I am applying now to lead my subordinates at work. These experiences when I was a student contributed a lot to the success that I am enjoying at this point. With LPU’s innovative learning environment, along with its track record of excellence, awards, numerous board topnotchers, and successful alumni, it makes one conclude that choosing LPU means one step ahead in reaching their success! #ButiNaLangNagLyceumAko
