If you don’t build your dreams with Passion someone else will use you to help build theirs in their own format.
I am a Nigerian based in Kaduna State and an alumnus of the College of Criminal Justice of the Lyceum of the Philippines University- Batangas.
In 2006, after my high school life I came up with two dreams of what to become and one was to be a Pilot and the other was to be Military personnel.
In 2011, I gained admission to study Computer Science, this time it was a University Offer in the Philippines, Lyceum of the Philippines University Laguna.
My parents were happy about it but deep inside I was not happy about the program but I knew I will likely switch to Criminal Justice when the time comes.
October 2011, when I arrived in the Philippines after one semester I applied for transfer and change of program from Computer Science to Criminology though it was not easy because I was asked to visit the Guidance and Counseling department but all I was after was I love to study Criminology.
In 2012 as I was studying the Causes of Crime, Solutions, and the best policies I began to develop an interest to become an agent of Change in my Community using Drug abuse as a key problem to solve which is also linked to Crime and Depression, etc.
I was faced with challenges because I graduated above the age of Military or the Law Enforcement Agency age requirement for Commissioned Service. But for those aspiring to apply for criminal justice indeed it is a great program to venture into for numerous opportunities. As a graduate of Criminology, I went for further studies to build my career, and I was shortlisted for a Scholarship to study in Accra Business School Ghana on an Executive Mini MBA in Leadership and Management program in 2019 and other Leadership programs endorsed by the University of Virginia USA and University of Harvard USA 2017/2018 respectively.
Presently I am a transformational and Motivational Leader with 5years of Community Development Services and Volunteering. Also a Security Expert, I derive my passion in Service for Humanity and helps the youth who are taken by depression, Crisis, and drugs activities.
As a Community developer, I created a leadership platform that mentored and inspired Youth to be part of sustainable development. Bringing the entire group together created an atmosphere of excitement in my leadership model which trained over 500 youth. As a dedicated youth, I have mentored over 100 youths across Africa Nations and have conducted programs that led me to be selected as a winner of the Prestigious Outstanding Skill Development and Vocational Educational Award at the International Education Summit Awards Bangkok, Thailand 2020.
My story will be incomplete if I do not share my worry about not joining the force due to the age limit but I still would advise the youth to apply for Criminal Justice at LPU and get the best knowledge to grow in all aspects of life. As my experience at the LPU College of Criminal Justice was one of the best with all its amazing and well-trained Professors. Even when you opt not to become an Officer the Criminology program will also expose you to life challenges that will help to make you grow. #ButiNalangnagLyceumAko
