
Demonstrating their commitment to innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable tourism, delegates from Lyceum of the Philippines University-Batangas (LPU-B) have departed for Vietnam to represent the University in the ECOViP Bootcamp LOTUS SEED: “Leading Opportunities in Tourism Using Sustainable & Ecological Development!” at Thai Nguyen University of Sciences.
Scheduled from July 28 to August 1, 2025, the Bootcamp serves as the culminating activity of the ECOViP Project’s Ecotourism Business Competitions, bringing together outstanding student teams from the six partner higher education institutions (HEIs) in Vietnam and the Philippines. During the event, participants will present and pitch innovative ecotourism business ideas, engage in collaborative learning activities, and exchange best practices in sustainable tourism and entrepreneurship.
Representing LPU-B are four outstanding student delegates:
- Gethsimyn Shea Ilagan – BS International Travel and Tourism Management
- Arhizza Jem Hernandez – BS Information Technology
- Princess Katlyn Herrera – BS Biology
- Richmond Ramos – BS Accountancy
Guiding the student team is Dr. Niño Philip Perculeza, Department Chair of the Business Administration Programs, who serves as the team’s mentor throughout the competition.
Also accompanying the delegation is Dr. Sergel Dacut, Linkages and International Affairs Supervisor and ECOViP Project Manager, who continues to strengthen LPU-B’s international engagement and collaboration under the ECOViP initiative.
The participation of LPU-B in the international Bootcamp reflects the University’s dedication to developing globally competitive students equipped with the knowledge, skills, and entrepreneurial mindset needed to create innovative and sustainable solutions for the tourism industry. It also reinforces the institution’s commitment to internationalization, cross-cultural collaboration, and the promotion of ecological and sustainable development.
