An international delegation from Europe, the Philippines, and Vietnam convened at Can Tho University from April 9 to 12, 2024, for the third and final Training of Trainers (ToT3) under the ECOViP project. The program focused on advancing innovative teaching methodologies that promote sustainable-oriented entrepreneurship in tourism.
Representing LPU-Batangas were Dr. Hazel Venus from the College of International Tourism and Hospitality Management, Dr. Melody Dimaano from the College of Computing Arts and Sciences, and Ms. Roxanne Aguba from the College of Allied Medical Professions. Their participation highlighted the university’s commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration and global engagement in tourism education.
The ToT3 program emphasized experiential and hands-on learning, enabling participants to apply theories introduced during prior online trainings. Key focus areas included curriculum enhancement, the integration of innovative teaching strategies in tourism, and strengthening employability outcomes for graduates.
During the four-day training, participants also reviewed updates on the implementation of the online course “Introduction to Entrepreneurship” across partner higher education institutions. In addition, discussions progressed on the development of an entrepreneurship competition under Task 9.1 of the project.
The training also provided opportunities for delegates to engage with tourism practitioners, facilitating meaningful discussions on current opportunities and challenges in sustainable tourism and ecotourism. These interactions offered valuable industry insights and reinforced the project’s objective of aligning academic instruction with real-world applications.
