Scope of Security Awareness Training and Seafarers with Designated Security Duties

  • The Security Awareness Training and Seafarers with Designated Security Duties course covers the mandatory competencies and the required knowledge, understanding, and proficiencies prescribed in Section A-VI/6, Table A-VI/6-1, and Table A-VI/6-2 of the STCW Code. This requires a total of eight (8) hours instructional hours to cover the topics enumerated in Part B – Course Outline. 

1. Submit the following requirements via email to lmtc@lpubatangas.edu.ph for evaluation: 

  • Scanned copy of PSA birth certificate or the bio page of Passport 
  • Scanned passport size picture white background, wearing a white plain polo shirt with collar for non-maritime graduates and prescribed uniform for maritime graduates 
  • Scanned copy of a valid medical certificate for service at sea issued by MARINA Accredited hospital/clinic. 
  • Seafarers Registration Number (MARINA MISMO)  

Note: The applicant shall receive the soft copy of the Enrolment Form via e-mail after the evaluation of submitted entrance requirements. 

2. Pay the Training and assessment fees at the LPU cashier’s office or through online banking and other payment options that can be found thru this link: Online payment options. OR number and date of payment shall be written on the enrollment form. Trainees shall email the deposit slip/ confirmation receipt to cashier@lpubatangas.edu.ph and lmtc@lpubatangas.edu.ph  

3. Once the enrollment process has been completed the trainee shall receive an email/text message that contains the following: 

  • Date of Online Orientation  
  • Batch Number  
  • Date of Training 

NOTE: Trainee must install Google Meet on a laptop/pc or mobile device. This can be downloaded from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
