On its 23rd Annual General Assembly last December 7, 2012 at the Century Park Hotel, Manila, the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA) cited Lyceum of the Philippines University – Batangas (LPU-B) for having the second highest number of accredited programs in the Philippines.
LPU Batangas already has 25 accredited programs as of school year 2012-2013. In the same event, it also received an award for having the most or highest number of accredited programs in the entire Region.
PACUCOA Chair Dr. Rosita Navarro handed the plaques and trophies to LPU Batangas delegation composed of Dr. Esmenia R. Javier (Executive Vice President / VP for Academics and Research), Dr. Flora V. Javier (Consultant for Special Projects and Planning and Dean of the Institute of Advanced Studies) and all LPU-B college deans.
Dr. Andy Nazarechuk, founding dean of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas-Singapore (UNLV-Singapore) and immediate past president and auditor of the International Centre of Excellence in Tourism and Hospitality Education, served as keynote speaker.
Nazarechuk discussed the competitive race to the ASEAN Community 2015 and its implication to quality assurance thrusts of higher education institutions in the Philippines.
This year, PACUCOA is celebrating its 59th founding anniversary.
