LPU’s College of Nursing envisions becoming a leading center of nursing education in the Asia Pacific Region. To that end, the College is committed to provide quality education that will help to develop the fullest potential of the learner in becoming a critical thinking generalist, a globally competitive practitioner and a research-oriented, socially responsible and caring nurse.
BS Nursing Program
The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) at LPU is a three to four-year program designed to prepare its graduates to provide optimum nursing care to various types of individuals in any aspect of healthcare. The program provides an intensive nursing practicum that will refine clinical skills starting in the first year to ensure basic clinical competencies required of a beginning nursing practitioner.
Why LPU’s International Nursing Program?
Studies show that from 2008-2010 nursing schools in the United States turned away some 50,000 qualified applicants per year from baccalaureate and graduate nursing programs. This is an apparent bi-product of lack of available faculty and physical classroom space in the States, as well as due to insufficient clinical sites and preceptors.
Other recent statistics generated by the Bureau of Labor (December 2009) project that more than 580,000 new RN positions will be created through 2018. This projection indicates that America’s entire RN workforce will need to grow in number by at least 22% by the end of the decade. It is expected then, that all available RN’s and those training to become RN’s will be needed to offset the anticipated shortage of these professionals as time progresses.
To address this nursing shortage crisis, Lyceum of the Philippines University – Batangas’ College of Nursing is offering this new and innovative school option that is being made available to all interested students who want to get their nursing careers started today.
Qualified U.S. students can now enroll in LPU’s College of Nursing, Batangas, Philippines. Students accepted to the program will become a part of a school that enjoys an international reputation for excellence in nursing education. It is also a school that boasts: (1) exemplary licensure examination performance, (with board topnotchers almost yearly); (2) state-of-the-art simulation centers; (3) faculty members who ALL finished the Master of Arts in Nursing degree; (4) available learning resources; and (5) strong partnership with tertiary and specialty hospitals in the region and in Manila.
