LPU-Batangas’ Phoenix wins CMMA

Phoenix, the official student publication of Lyceum of the Philippines University- Batangas (LPU-B), earned recognition in the 34th Catholic Mass Media Awards when it was hailed as Best Student Organ for college division. The awarding ceremony was held at Star Theater, CCP Complex, Pasay City, 25 September.

Receiving the trophy were last year’s editor in chief Gelli Anne M. de Asis, associate editor Gelimie Ann B. Reyes, managing editor Kevin Edward L. Culla, literary and development communication editor Jeorge Michael A. Anyayahan, sports editor Virome G. Dimasacat, feature editor Seatiel J. Mangubat, and adviser Anthony Jan V. Cabatic.

The publication’s Exodus magazine issue for the academic year 2011-2012 focused on the concept of timelessness of virtuous human endeavors. The release’s 130 pages dealt with issues relevant within and outside the university.

Exodus was the group’s fourteenth magazine release.

In 2008, Phoenix was nominated for the same award for its broadsheet and literary folio.
