In line with the Investors in People (IiP) Week and the road to the IiP Silver Certification, the Human Resource Management and Development Office held a seminar on “Achieving Excellence through People” at the Freedom Hall, February 7, 2014.
The HRMD office invited Ms. Irene S. Isleta as Guest Speaker. Ms. Isleta is a Manager in the Human Resources Division of the St. Luke’s Medical Center (SLMC) in Quezon City. She is in charge of the Management and Education Training Section and is also responsible for Training in the Development and Education Department of SLMC. SLMC is the only hospital to receive the IiP certification in the country because of its people management strategies which aims to develop SLMC employees’ skills and empower them towards achieving one goal. This same ideology was laid by Ms. Isleta in her talk, she says that the management and its people must have one goal and that is to achieve excellence.
Moreover, the seminar also served as the fitting venue to award one of LPU’s board topnotchers in the person of Mario Mendoza, 7th placer in the 2013 Maritime Licensure Exam (Chiefmate). Mendoza received a cheque amounting to sixty thousand pesos from LPU-Batangas President, Mr. Peter P. Laurel.
LPU Batangas received its IiP bronze certification in 2013 and will be undergoing the assessment for the silver recognition from February 10-12,2014.
